16.12.08 Today I held my finished novel in my hands for the first time. Snowbooks have made a truly beautiful book, both inside and out. I don't usually like hardbacks, but even if I hadn't written it I'd be coveting this one... Read more about my new baby at my Planting Words blog, read the cover quotes to see what other writers thought, or buy one for yourself - it's nearly Christmas, after all...

12.12.08 There is an exclusive sneak preview of The Letters here - you can also pre-order your copy now at Amazon UK for the bargain price of £5.99 - what a steal. I'm currently arranging my March blog tour and have 24 blogs signed up - just 7 slots left, let me know if you're interested in taking part. Hope the Christmas prep is going well! I'm tackling the Christmas tree today...

11.11.08 I'm not sure how it got to be November so quickly.  In preparation for the March launch of The Letters I'm trying to grow my 'occasional updates on Fiona Robyn' subscriber list - the newsletter goes out four times a year and often has competitions for free books, free articles etc.  If you haven't already subscribed (or if you know someone who'd like to try it) put your email into one of the boxes at the bottom of every page. We have 130 members at the 'a handful of stones' group on Facebook now, and daily visitors to the blogzine are growing. There's an article about how to write small stones here

23.10.08 Time for a face-lift for the site - I've tried to simplify things and re-organise everything in a logical way, I hope I've succeeded. I'm updating my Planting Words blog several times a week now - I hope to see you there.

1.10.08 The current novel is getting some attention at last. A new page on The Letters here. It's getting chilly...

18.9.08 There are some more bits and bobs up at my Snowbooks author page, including a photo of me and a cow (links on the left). a handful of stones is looking good. I will get back to working on my current novel, ANY DAY NOW. Just a couple of things to do first...

31.8.09 a handful of stones has started - go and have a look for a brand new stone by someone who's not me every day. And do have a go at writing a few yourself if you fancy it and sending them through (more info here). Have you ordered my novel yet? ; )

21.8.09 As you can see, the covers are ready, and the novels are already available for pre-order! You'll have to wait a mere 193 days for The Letters to be delivered to your door... I've also set up a companion group to the 'a handful of stones' blogzine on Facebook - come and join here or come and say hello to me here.

19.8.08 The covers for the novels are almost ready... and the publication dates and order of release have changed - The Letters first in March, then The Blue Handbag later in the year and Thaw in 2010. I'm writing a series of articles to 'count down' on Planting Words - sign up on the blog if you'd like them to be emailed to you every Monday.

2.8.08 I've got some good stuff now, but am still looking for submissions for my new blog, a handful of stones, which will start on September 1st.  I'm off on an Arvon course next week.

22.7.08 I'm busy getting my three manuscripts ready to go out into the big wide world, and am heartened to find that I still think they're rather good, even if I do say so myself... The Blue Handbag in March, The Letters in May and Thaw in July. I can't wait to introduce you to Leonard, Violet and Ruth.

17.7.08 Well, Emma mentioned me on her blog for the first time yesterday so I guess it must be official... www.snowbooks.co.uk are going to publish my three novels next year.  I'm REALLY looking forward to working with them. Read more about my triplets at Planting Words, my writing blog. Hurray! (grin)

14.7.08 I'm starting a new blog at http://ahandfulofstones.blogspot.com, a collection of other people's small stones. Find out more here and submit here, and please help me to spread the word. The blog tour is continuing - great fun.

2.7.08 My blog tour is underway - do visit me as I cross the globe flitting from blog to blog!

12.6.08 It's all go... 'small stones: a year of moments' is now available from Amazon UK or Amazon US - go on, you know you want to.  I'm also running a course near Oxford on the 30th of August - go here for more info - there are only 10 spaces so let me know if you're interested in attending.  Oh, and check out my blog tour!

9.6.08 I've decided to start offering services to writers again after a long hiatus - including telephone consultations and writing reports.  Find out more here - www.plantingwords.com, and I've also started a new blog on my writing process - www.plantingwords.blogspot.com.  Looking forward to getting started!

2.6.08 'small stones: a year of moments', the book based on my blog, is now available from Lulu - get more information here or buy it here.  It'll be available from Amazon soon-ish, I'll let you know when.  I'm organising a blog tour which should be fun - let me know if you have a blog and would like to join in.  I hope you like it.  Just back from a lovely retreat near Oxford - www.theabbey.uk.com - highly recommended.

9.5.08 Three of my poems are now up in waiting rooms in hospitals in Leeds - you can see them here.  Congratulations to Char March for what looks like a fantastic project. I'm finding new and inventive ways to avoid working on my current novel - no change there...

2.5.08 a small stone is now also a Gadget for iGoogle - clever eh?  iGoogle is a way of personalising your Google homepage - there are some great looking designs, and you can add lots of 'gadgets' - quote of the day, a clock, amusing photos of cats, and now a small stone too.  Click here to give it a go.

23.4.08 a small stone has had a mini-makeover in preparation for the book coming out, to make sure it matches. Hope you like Mr. Rabbit.  I have a couple of poetry readings coming up later in the year - will let you know when. The deer polished off the last red tulips last night.

13.3.08 A poem about my body falling apart with a recording of me reading it is now up at www.qarrtsiluni.com. The deer have eaten all my flowers, but never mind.

27.2.08 Still working on the new novel - finding out about Amsterdam, 13 year old boys, the weather and Aspergers syndrome and getting to know my characters.  Remembering how scary first drafts are.  Also redoubling my efforts to find a new agent after giving myself a break.  Daffodils!  Crocuses!  Tulips!

22.1.08 Happy new year!  I've decided to publish my first novel 'Thaw' myself, later in the year.  I've also got started on the new novel about Joe, which will keep me busy for a while.  Living Things, my first poetry collection, is now on Amazon (links here).
