Planting Words

Planting
Words is where I write about my life as a gardener of words. You might
find extracts from the books I'm currently reading, musings on being a
writer, my opinions on books, or the odd poem or two. You might find
'an antidote to
disembodiment and dematerialisation', or a piece about
hot salt-and-vinegared chips. You might find a competition to win some
free books.
What you will
find is someone who believes in the transformative power of good
writing. I've always seen myself as a reader first, and as a writer
second. Good writing nourishes me, giving me food for thought and
feeding my soul. I agree with Denise Levertov, who said that langauge
is '...a way of breathing', a way of sustaining ourselves as we walk
through this world, looking and looking.
I hope you'll
come and walk with me.
