I've been writing every day at a small stone for several years now. Every day I try to pay proper attention to at least one thing, and record it on my blog. I call each chunk of writing a small stone.
The best of these small stones are collected in my book, small stones: a year of moments, which came out in June 2008.
Every so often readers would send me their own small stones, and I thought it was about time they deserved a blog of their own.
a handful of stones publishes the best of these - one every day. It began on the 1st of September 2008. We have a Facebook group here if you'd like to join - I send out my favourite stone from the week every Friday. There is also a very nifty a handful of stones widget which you can add to your own blog. Here's a list of the blogs who already have the widget - email me if you need to be added to the list.
